Understand yourself. Express yourself. Advocate for yourself.
Young people identified through need, not diagnosis. FYV may be appropriate for young people who find it difficult to understand or express thoughts, feelings and needs; lack confidence communicating; find self-advocacy or help-seeking challenging; or would benefit from structured support to develop confidence and independence.
Reflection and greater understanding of internal experiences and needs.
Clearer expression, help-seeking and confidence in communicating with others.
Decision-making, problem-solving and greater capacity to act for oneself.
FYV is built around the Thought • Speech • Action framework. Young people move from greater self-understanding, to clearer expression, to more purposeful self-advocacy.
The programme uses a consistent, structured session model and includes baseline and end-point evaluation. Detailed practitioner methodology, activities and assessment tools are provided within delivery rather than published publicly.
Impact can be explored through baseline and end-point assessment, participant voice, facilitator observation, stakeholder feedback and participant reflection.
